Borreliella garinii is a species of spirochete bacterium within the Borrelia genus. It is endemic to parts of Eurasia and is one of the causative agents of human Lyme disease. This bacterium is transmitted by hard-bodied ticks of the Ixodes genus, specifically Ixodes ricinus in Europe and Ixodes persulcatus in temperate regions of Asia, and infects various wild woodland mammals.
