Pig respiratory diseases like enzootic pneumonia (EP) can be caused by a variety of infections. Pig respiratory and reproductive syndrome virus (PRRSV), porcine circovirus type 2 (PCV2), swine influenza virus (SIV), and other viral infections are the cause of porcine respiratory illnesses. These respiratory pathogens can cause symptoms such as high fever, diarrhea, lameness, eye redness, paralysis, etc. The prevalence of swine respiratory diseases costs animal producers a big amount of money each year. Because porcine respiratory diseases are so common, pig farms consistently suffer large financial losses. Vaccination could be a useful approach to keep many of these respiratory diseases to a minimum. However, to treat them properly, the discovery of the corresponding antibodies is crucial.

The virus neutralization assay, which is used to effectively treat swine respiratory diseases caused by many pathogens, is used to find antibodies produced in response to infection. The SVN test can be used to assess the degree of serological cross-reactivity between vaccine antisera and swine respiratory viruses, which may be connected with cross-protection in the host. When compared to other techniques, the viral neutralization assay outperforms them in terms of speed, sensitivity, and specificity. Today, a variety of VN techniques are used to detect the antibodies, including the plaque reduction neutralization test (PRNT) and the serum viral neutralization (SVN) assay.
BioVenic is a supplier of biological reagents and kits, we devoted a lot of time to developing diagnostic tools and kits for animal diseases. Our assays are developed and processed with higher standards and the results are delivered on time without compromising quality. We have a team with significant expertise in veterinary diagnostic, and we can provide you with a range of specialized VN kits for the detection of respiratory virus infections of porcine.
