Porcine Circovirus Isolation Kit Development

Porcine circovirus (PCV) is a non-enveloped, single-stranded DNA virus belonging to the genus Circovirus of the family Circoviridae. Porcine circovirus has a circular genome with a size of about 1.76 kb, and its particles have an icosahedral symmetrical structure with a diameter of 14-17 nm. Porcine circovirus was first discovered in 1974 and is one of the smallest known animal viruses. At present, four different porcine circoviruses (PCV1 - PCV4) have been identified, and the study of porcine circovirus (PCV2) has always been a hot and difficult point in porcine disease research. PCV2 infection not only leads to a series of disease syndromes in pigs, but also causes immunosuppression, which has caused significant economic losses to the world swine industry.

Porcine Circovirus Isolation Kit Development

Porcine circovirus disease is an infectious disease caused by porcine circovirus. The disease has a high infection rate in pigs and mainly affects lactating piglets and fattening pigs. The disease is characterized by fever, constipation or dysentery, cough, respiratory distress, weight loss and death. Porcine circovirus disease is recognized by veterinarians and pig farmers worldwide as an important infectious disease that causes immune disorders in pigs after porcine reproductive and respiratory syndrome (PRRS), which has caused huge economic losses to the pig industry. Therefore, virus isolation techniques were used to isolate and characterize porcine circovirus in order to study its pathogenic mechanism and transmission route.

BioVenic is a company specializing in animal virology research, dedicated to safeguarding the health of poultry, livestock, companion animals and wildlife. We can provide you with a series of porcine circovirus isolation kits to study the genetic variability, evolutionary pathway, pathogenic mechanism and transmission route of porcine circovirus. If you have any needs, please feel free to contact us.
