Details:
Shewanella putrefaciens is a non-fermentative, motile, Gram-negative bacillus characterized by its production of hydrogen sulfide (H2S). This pathogenic bacterium has been isolated from both marine and freshwater fish. Infected fish show symptoms such as emaciation, a distended anus, ulcers on the back and abdomen, and abdominal hemorrhage. Additionally, it is recognized as a significant spoilage bacterium in seafood.
