Staphylococcus equorum is a Gram-positive, coagulase-negative bacterium belonging to the genus Staphylococcus and characterized by clustered cocci. It is commonly found in low numbers on the skin and mucous membranes of warm-blooded animals. Initially isolated from the skin of healthy horses, this species has a cell wall structure similar to that of Staphylococcus xylosus.
