Streptococcus anginosus is a type of Streptococcus bacterium. Along with Streptococcus intermedius and Streptococcus constellatus, it forms the anginosus group, often also called the milleri group, a name stemming from the previously believed but disproven concept of a single species named Streptococcus milleri. Streptococcus anginosus is regarded as a commensal organism, typically found colonizing the oral cavity, gastrointestinal tract, and genitourinary tract.
