Yersinia intermedia is a Gram-negative bacterial species that metabolizes rhamnose, melibiose, and raffinose. It has been found in fish and comprises several biotypes. This new species was named Y. intermedia due to its intermediate properties between Y. pseudotuberculosis and Y. enterocolitica.
