Avian influenza (AI) viruses are categorized based on two protein types: hemagglutinin (H) proteins, numbered from H1 to H16, and neuraminidase (N) proteins, ranging from N1 to N9. Research has revealed that the Eurasian avian-like H1N1 (EA H1N1) swine influenza viruses have been widespread among pigs globally. These viruses have developed multiple genotypes by incorporating non-hemagglutinin and neuraminidase segments from other swine influenza viruses.
