Group A β-hemolytic Streptococcus (GABHS) is the leading bacterial culprit behind tonsillopharyngitis. Besides this, it can also lead to acute otitis media, pneumonia, and infections of the skin and soft tissues. It is associated with cardiovascular, musculoskeletal, lymphatic infections, bacteremia, and meningitis as well. Streptococcus pyogenes stands out as one of the most prevalent beta-hemolytic group A streptococci affecting humans. Staphylococcus aureus, a Gram-positive, spherical bacterium and member of the Bacillota, is typically part of the body’s microbiota, often located in the upper respiratory tract and on the skin. It is known to cause various livestock diseases commonly found in pigs, cows, and poultry, including mastitis, joint infections, and skin infections.
