Mouse anti Chicken TIM-4

Description:

Mouse anti chicken TIM-4 antibody, clone ROS-JH9, recognizes chicken TIM-4 (T-cell immunoglobulin mucin 4).

In mice, TIM-4 is largely expressed on antigen-presenting cells and involved in phagocytosis of apoptotic cells with, additionally, a regulatory role in T-cell responses. In chickens, the gene for TIM-4 codes for a minimum of five splice variants that vary between stains. Myeloid antigen-presenting cells and γδ T cells express chTIM4; in contrast to mammalian T cells which do not express TIM-4.

Research conducted by Hu et al. using mouse anti chicken TIM-4 antibody, clone ROS-JH9, revealed that it can detect all isoforms of chicken TIM-4. Clone ROS-JH9 was found to stain bone marrow macrophages from J line birds, a cell population that was also positive for clone KUL01. Further work characterized a distinct TIM-4 bearing set of phagocytes in the bursa and showed that approximately 50% of blood monocytes in chicken express detectable levels of TIM-4.

Application:

Storage:

This product is shipped at ambient temperature. It is recommended to aliquot and store at -20°C on receipt. When thawed, aliquot the sample as needed. Keep aliquots at 2-8°C for short term use (up to 4 weeks) and store the remaining aliquots at -20°C.

Note:

Avoid repeated freezing and thawing as this may denature the antibody. Storage in frost-free freezers is not recommended.
