Specificity:
Porcine epidemic diarrhea virus (PEDV)
Product Description:
BioVenic Porcine Epidemic Diarrhea Virus (PEDV) Probe-based RT-qPCR Kit is designed for the real-time detection of Porcine Epidemic Diarrhea Virus (PEDV) in Serum, plasma and other biological samples using a Probe-based RT-qPCR method. For research use only.
Details:
Porcine epidemic diarrhea virus (PEDV) is a coronavirus that targets the cells lining a pig’s small intestine, leading to porcine epidemic diarrhea characterized by severe diarrhea and dehydration. This virus causes diarrhea and vomiting, which results in extreme dehydration. In newborns, the mortality rate can reach up to 100% with virulent strains, whereas older pigs typically recover within 7 to 10 days. PEDV is transmitted through fecal-oral routes and requires a low infectious dose.
