Rabbit anti Dog Interleukin-1 β

Description:

Rabbit anti dog interleukin-1 beta antibody recognizes canine interleukin-1 beta (IL-1β), a 17.5 kDa pleiotropic pro-inflammatory cytokine belonging to the IL-1 superfamily. It is secreted by activated macrophages and monocytes and is involved in the modulation of a wide range of immune and inflammatory responses.

IL-1β and the closely related IL-1α, are both involved in haematopoiesis and exhibit many identical immunomodulatory properties, binding to the same type I interleukin-1 receptor, also known as CD121a.

Preparation:

Antisera to canine interleukin-1 beta were raised by repeated immunisation of rabbits with highly purified antigen. Purified IgG was prepared from whole serum by affinity chromatography.
