Details:
Astroviruses, belonging to the family Astroviridae, were initially identified in 1975. Beyond humans, astroviruses have been isolated from a variety of mammalian animal species, as well as avian species, including ducks, chickens, and turkey poults. Group A rotaviruses are the leading cause of acute gastroenteritis in children under the age of two. They are also linked to diarrhea in young birds and mammalian species.
