Sheep anti Bovine IgA:FITC

Description:

Sheep anti bovine IgA antibody recognizes bovine IgA and shows no cross reactivity with other bovine immunoglobulin classes in immunoelectrophoresis.This antibody may recognize IgA from other species, though this has not been verified.

IgA is the predominant surface secreted immunoglobulin from the intestinal, urogenital and respiratory tracts. IgA functions in a protective capacity, primarily, by preventing viruses and bacteria from adhearing to epithelial tissues. High concentrations of IgA are found in saliva, colostrum, milk, tear duct fluid, urine and nasal fluid.

In addition to this polyclonal antibody, we have a monoclonal mouse anti bovine IgA , clone IL-A71 antibody available which is specific for bovine IgA, also available in a peroxidase conjugated format.

Preparation:

Antisera to bovine IgA were raised by repeated immunisation of sheep with highly purified antigen. Purified IgG prepared by affinity chromatography.
